The ability to communicate and connect with many different nationalities around the world is a skill our sales team is very good at. So let’s find out more about the art of global sales…

First things first, what’s your name and job title?

Ross Hayward, International Sales Manager

And how long have you been working for the company?

Just over 16 years.

So, what is your typical day like? What are your main objectives and what do you need to get done?

A typical day is spent speaking with our customers across the world and answering their questions and queries about UV curing lamps. I also spend time looking for new customers and finding out where they are currently purchasing from and how we can become their preferred supplier. No 2 days are the same and each day brings its own challenges, with helping to support or network of distributors and dealers to enable them to sell more lamps and accessories.

Did your previous experience provide a good grounding for the role here?

I previously worked for a health and safety company, which is very different to UV lamps of which I knew nothing when joining the company. In my previous role, it was more selling to consumers, rather than businesses so I had to learn how to work effectively in a B2B environment.

What do you enjoy about working here?

I enjoy the daily challenges the role brings, and consider many of the customers I have worked with for a long time as friends, as well as valuable customers.

Let’s find out more about you… what’s your idea of a perfect day?

My perfect day would be spent with my wife and children, preferably relaxing somewhere hot with a nice cold beer. Anywhere with my family is the perfect day.

Are you a coffee or tea person?

Neither, very sadly prefer water.

How do you rate the music choices being played in the factory / office?

When I’m in the office the music is usually pretty good, thanks to our resident DJ’s Milly & Carla.

Final question – what’s your main focus or piece of work to smash out of the park over the coming months?

I’m looking to gain new partners in territories to enable the company to grow, specifically Italy, Indonesia, Malaysia and Africa.
